PREVENTING INFECTION
To prevent becoming infected with a Bloodborne Pathogen, treat everyone's blood or other potentially infectious material as if it is infected.
Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when dealing with any blood or body fluid. If you must handle blood or body fluids, you must wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment, such as gloves. If gloves are not readily available, a towel, plastic bag, or other barrier can help reduce the risk of infection. Other common Personal Protective Equipment include goggles, face shields, aprons, lab coats, etc.
